About Sport Data

Who writes Sport Data, where our Premier League and Champions League numbers come from, how we correct mistakes and how the site is paid for.

Sport Data turns the Premier League and the Champions League into numbers you can actually use: expected goals, form, player output and the tables behind them. It is written for fans who would rather check a claim than repeat it.

What we cover

The xG match calculator lets you rebuild a match from its chances.

Our rules for numbers

Every statistic comes with its source and, where it matters, the date it was taken. Metrics such as expected goals differ between data providers, so we say whose figure we are quoting. When a number is only there to show a method, we label it as an example.

When we get it wrong

Send the link and the correction to the address below. We fix the article and update its date, so you can see that it changed.

Funding

Sport Data is supported by advertising. Advertisers do not see articles before they are published and have no say in what we write.
